To ensure that participants are fully prepared to get the most out of the VMware vSphere: Design [V7] course and can successfully undertake the training, the following minimum prerequisites are recommended:
Understanding of Concepts: Familiarity with the concepts and the operational experience of VMware vSphere® environments, including VMware ESXi™, VMware vCenter Server®, and virtual machines.
Completion of Courses: Ideally, students should have completed one of the following training courses or have equivalent knowledge:
System Administration Experience: Experience with system administration on Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems is highly beneficial.
Networking Knowledge: A good understanding of networking concepts, which includes the basics of switching, routing, and subnetting.
Storage Knowledge: An understanding of basic storage concepts, such as storage arrays, storage networking technologies (Fibre Channel, iSCSI, etc.), and the basics of the VMware vSAN™.
vSphere Knowledge: Knowledge of the use of VMware vSphere® Web Client, purpose, and functionality of vSphere components, and the ability to use VMware vRealize® Operations™ to analyze vSphere environment data.
